This is how it works: For every order we receive, a formula is used to calculate the estimated emissions from the shipment. Based on these estimates, a portion of our revenue goes to CO2 removal companies vetted by scientists from Carbon Direct. These companies use that money to remove the amount of carbon our shipments have caused. Any additional funds go towards the further development of carbon removal technologies.
